By the 19th century there were advances that kept propelling cartography to finer granularity and greater accuracy. It's interesting to look at those areas which were still frontiers of a sort, where definition and clarity hadn't been achieved. This small assortment looks at some areas around the world that were still being definitively charted and grasped and looked at in a new way.
